AIP Discretionary Funds
  • Micronesia Airports are only eligible for AIP
    driscretionary funds, not entitlement funds.
  • AIP discretionary funds are limited and are
    distributed on a competitive basis based on the
    AIP Priority Ranking System and Airport Sponsor
    Performance.

AIP Discretionary Funding Performance Criteria
  • Construction projects funded with AIP
    discretionary funds must have plans and
    specifications completed and ready for bid
    solicitation so that the AIP grant can be issued
    based on construction bid prices.

AIP Discretionary Funding Performance Criteria
  • Projects funded with AIP discretionary funds must
    be underway within six (6) months from the date
    the AIP grant is signed.

  • Projects funded with AIP discretionary funds must
    be physically and financially completed within
    four (4) years from the date of the AIP grant.

  • In making AIP discretionary funding decisions,
    the FAA is required to consider whether funding
    has been provided for all other higher priority
    projects.
