The process is completed in two visits.
In first visit, Dr. Kezian and staff will clean and prepare your tooth for the inlay. An impression of your tooth will also be made and sent to the laboratory, where your inlay will be prepared from either from gold or from porcelain. After that, your tooth will be sealed with a temporary sealant and you can go to home.
On 2nd visit, the temporary sealant will be removed and the gold or porcelain fillings will be cemented inside the sups tips of your tooth.

An onlay is similar to an inlay, but the only difference is this that it covers a large part of the tooth. It can cover even one or more cusps of tooth.
Since onlays are an extensive reconstruction as compared to inlays, they are only advised in case if a substantial reconstruction is required.
These porcelain fillings cover a large part as compared to inlays, but a small part as compared to a full crown.
