Pastor George Matthews is associated with Genesis
Worship Center for many years. In 2003, he
accepted the call to pastor and received support
of Bishop W.W. Hamilton to launch the Genesis
Worship Center. With God's grace, this center
purchased a church building after only two years
of ministry and fully renovated the interiors and
exteriors of building in just 10 months to expand
its ministry. He become the Superintendent of the
New Birth District and was officially installed
as Superintendent in 2006.

He graduated from Woodside High School and
continued his education at San Jose State
University, where he earned a Bachelors of
Science Degree in Business Administration. He
then earned M.B.A. in Marketing from Golden Gate
University, San Francisco, California in 1993. He
received his biblical foundation at New Sweet
Home Church of God in Christ under the leadership
of Pastor A.C. Macklin where he received Jesus
Christ as his Lord and Personal Savior.

He later joined the Glad Tidings Church of God in
Christ under the leadership of Bishop J.W.
Macklin, where he served in the Youth, Sunday
School and Music Departments. Pastor George
Matthews worked for Hewlett Packard Company where
he served in a diverse number of leadership
capacities for over 13 years such as Sales
Development Manager for the Printer Division of
North America.

In the year 2001, he left the company to go into
full-time ministry as the Youth Pastor at Acts
Full Gospel Church of God in Christ in Oakland,
California where he worked closely with Dr. Bob
Jackson. He guided, trained and motivated some of
the most energetic youth within the community.
After six month, the youth church grew to more
than 400 worshippers and over 200 Bible Study
members on Tuesday evenings.
