Introduction

History of Joomla
Usually, project fork happens when developers
take a copy of source code from one software
package and start development on it
independently, creating a distinct piece of
software. Joomla was the resultant of fork of
Mambo which was an open source content managemnt
system for creating and managing websites through
a simple web interface, its last release was
2008. Joomla Developers created a website called
OpenSourceMatters.org (OSM) to distribute
information to users, developers, web designers
and the community in general. Project leader
Andrew Eddie wrote a letter that was visible on
the announcements section of the public forum at
