LCAHL Volunteers
  • All LCAHL positions are on a volunteer basis
  • LCAHL requested volunteers from across the league
in August and received more than 65 responses.
  • Skill sets were matched with open positions as
    Board Members, Division Directors, Committee
    Chairs and Committee Members
  • No volunteer was turned away, but sometimes
volunteers did not get the position they wanted
    and were offered an alternative
  • LCAHL Volunteers represent all MAHA districts
across the league and out of state teams
  • Division Directors are the first line of contact
    for all teams
  • Committees will be used for special functions and
    have open positions
  • The Operations Board oversees all decisions with
the understanding that the final decision will
always be one that is aligned with the Operating
Rules and in the best interest of the majority of
    the teams

  • Toledo (South)
  • Port Huron (East)
  • Bay City (North)
  • Grand Rapids (West)
  • If a teams home arena is outside of the
    boundaries
  • Contract ice within the league boundaries to host
    home games
  • Exemption from LCAHL
  • 21 teams outside of boundaries were required to
    purchase ice within boundaries

15
Operating Rule Reminders
  • Game Changes Division Directors must be notified
of any game date and time changes and both teams
must agree in writing (email). Once all parties
agree, the Division Director will make the change
in Pointstreak. NO GAMES MAY BE SCHEDULED AFTER
1/8/09 WITHOUT THE WRITTEN CONSENT OF THE LEAGUE
    SCHEDULER.
  • Neck Guards are recommended but not required.
  • Double Jeopardy Rule is no longer in affect for
league play but stands for playoffs

16
Operating Rules Reminder
  • Weather Conditions LCAHL reserves the right to
cancel any/or all league games due to bad weather
conditions. The league uses as its guide, the
National Weather Service and the state police.
Every reasonable attempt should be made to play
scheduled games, however the league will not
mandate that a team must compete when there is
inclement weather that could threaten the safety
of players, coaches and family members.
  • Section 9 LCAHL Operating Rules

17
Operating Rules Reminder
  • Protest and Discipline Committee
  • Three individuals will make up the committee in
addition to the Division Director and at least
    one LCAHL Operations Board member
  • Protests must be noted on the score sheet at the
    time of play
  • Protests must be submitted within the timelines
noted in the operating rules with the appropriate
    payment
  • In any protest, two basic questions must be
    answered
  • Was the protest filed in accordance with league
    rules?
  • Was a league rule violated in a such a way that
it had an impact on the outcome of the game?
  • The league will not review on ice calls by the
    referee.

18
Operating Rules Reminder
  • Period Lengths
  • Minimum 10 Minutes
  • Maximum
  • 12 Minutes Mini Mites/Mites
  • 15 Minutes All Others
  • Each team should confirm at scheduling and prior
to the start of the game in writing on the score
    sheet the period length
  • The league will not mandate the amount of ice
time that a team must have, but teams should use
consideration of drive time and common game times
    when scheduling
  • Questions should be referred to the Division
    Director

19

head coach of the home team could be suspended
from league play until data entry is complete.
