- The plague originally came from central and
eastern Asia.

- Traders unknowingly brought rats carrying the
disease to Mediterranean ports. From there it
quickly swept through out most of Europe. Fleas
that fed on infected rats passed on the plague to
people.

- It was a very deadly plague that swept between
Europe around the time 1347-1351.

- Around 25 million people died during the black
death. The old manyor system, already weakend by
the growth of the cities, collapsed.
