    Pilgrims visited religious places.

  • Religious Order- Group of people who dedicate
    their lives to religion and follow common rules.
  • Most monks lived apart from society.

    from central and eastern Asia.
  • How it spread- Traders brought rats carrying
    the disease to Mediterranean ports. From there it
    quickly swept throughout most of Europe. Fleas
    that fed on infected rats passed on the plague to
    people.
