Davies Cup-1963

• Selected mid U.C.L.A. education

• Became the first African American to be
  selected as a U.S. competitor.

• He was, in his later days, promoted to coach for
  the Davies cup tournament.

U.S. Open-1968

• This Tournament qualified the official
  profession upon Ashe.

South African Open-1970

• Ashe anticipated the big tournament, the South
  African open with rigorous training.

• Arthur had garnered public attention as well as
  being excluded from the tournament because of his
  sudden denied status of his visa.

• Having technically lost by default, it was a
  first for Arthur

Wimbledon-1975

• After this, Ashe was ranked number 1 tennis seed
  in the world later that year.

• Twas Arthurs last major tournament before he
  experienced a heart attack 4 years later,
  receiving retirement the year following.
