  • Panda bears are mammals because they are warm
    blooded, give birth and milk to their babies,
    breathe with lungs and have fur.

Different Kinds
  • There are only two kinds of panda bears they are
    giant pandas and red pandas.
  • Red pandas also live in China. They dont look
    alike, they mostly look like raccoons.

My Animal looks like ...
  • The color of my animal is black and white to
    camouflage from the snow of China.
  • The size of my animal is 4-5 feet long.
  • The weight of males is 176 to 350 pounds and
    females are smaller.

Habitat
  • Where do panda bears live?
  • Most panda bears lives in China. They live in a
    small part of China, where bamboo grows. Some
    live in the wild and others live in zoos.

Physical Adaptation
  • Like most bears, panda bears like to climb trees.
  • They also have this type of thumb to eat bamboo.
  • Splash! A panda is also a great swimmer.

Behavior Adaptation
  • They have round faces because they have strong
    jaw muscles that help them grind their food.

Food
  • Their only food is bamboo.
  • It almost eats for half its life.
  • They eat about 25 to 45 pounds a day which is
    about the weight of a first grader.

Predator
  • Their predators are jackal, leopards, wild dogs
    and black bears.
  • The mother protects the babies from them.

Reproduction
  • Panda bears are born alive because they are
    mammals.

Babies
  • The mother stays with their baby for 2 years,
    which is about when the next cub is born.

When do they get babies?
  • They can have babies when they are 8-20 years old.

How big can it grow?
  • When they are adults they are about 2.9 feet long
    and 2.46 feet tall from all four legs.
  • Males can weigh up to 330 pounds.
  • Females can weigh up to 275 pounds.
