3CIGNA HealthCare Partnership Overview
- What has changed?
- The NALC Health Benefit Plan has replaced the
Coventry (First Health) Network with CIGNA
HealthCare Shared Administration Network
effective 1/1/08. - Why did the NALC Health Benefit Plan make this
change? - This change is intended to give our own Union
Plan and our representatives ammunition to bring
our union membership back to the NALC Health
Benefit Plan. This is where our members belong.

Plan?
- Service Advantage The NALC Health Benefit Plan
has always delivered best-in-class service, with
top OPM rankings year after year. With the
expanded network of CIGNA and their special
programs, we will better serve our membership. - Network Access Advantage The CIGNA network is
our new network effective 1/1/08. This network is
significantly larger both locally and nationally.
The CIGNA Network provides our members with
access to more than 7,100 hospital and facility
locations, 1 million professional and physician
locations, and over 40,000 ancillary provider
locations more than 1 million in network
providers nationally. Encourage the members to
compare networks compare their current network
to CIGNA! (See below web tools) - Network Discount Advantage CIGNA's discounts are
superior to most other networks available to the
FEHB population, which means members joining the
NALC Health Benefit Plan from other FEHB plans
will most likely enjoy lower out-of-pocket
coinsurance costs.

free 800 line for mothers-to-be, case management
for high risk patients, prenatal care reminders,
and literature on proper prenatal care. This
program is wonderful for new mothers-to-be and
young couples planning to have children. - Healthy Rewards? member discounts program
includes special offers on programs and services
designed to help our members enhance their health
and wellness. Healthy Rewards includes discounts
on Weight Watchers?, Jenny Craig?, Curves?, Mayo
Clinic books, fitness centers, a variety of
wellness magazines, oral hygiene products and
more. Healthy Rewards also offers discounts on
some vision and hearing services. This program
is perfect for those trying to stay healthy or
get healthy! - Case Management helps patients with acute or
chronic illness injuries in coordinating care,
identifying in network providers, and providing
support to the patient and family - Transplant Management helps members needing these
services with care coordination, support, and
guidance into Transplant Centers of Excellence
available nationally - Inpatient Pre-Admission Certification provides
care alternatives to an inpatient setting when
appropriate and protects member dollars by
ensuring care length of stay appropriateness

(state-of-the-art quality and cost comparison
tool) - Hospital Select/Compare tool allows members to
compare quality performance for specific
treatments at most area hospitals, prior to
choosing a hospital for care - Opportunity to take a Health Risk Assessment, get
feedback on your risks and opportunities to avoid
at-risk-conditions, as well as related follow-up
questions to discuss with your doctor - Conditions Center provides information about
diseases and conditions - Health Record enables members to record their
care and results - Health Tracker allows members to see what

- The NALC Health Benefit Plan offers many

of the NALC Health Benefit Plan. The monthly Self
Only premium is 3.75 and 5.50 for Self and
Family. This is a discount program and not
insurance. The member must pay the entire
