What is Q-card? Q-CARD is a web based print
ordering system which creates a dynamic order
form based on the criteria of the clients print
template. Orders can be proof read and changes
made before final placement of the
order. Q-Cards automated order system makes
tracking, billing and verifying your orders easy
and efficient. Orders can also be imported
directly into Quark Express or retrieved as
Adobe Illustrator files ready for press. View,
save and print your monthly orders. (Orders are
sorted and totaled by docket , customer ,
template and quantity for easy invoicing by your
accounting department.)

The process at a glance Your Customers surf to
your web site, log in, select an item, enter
their text data, view a sample, place the order
and on confirming the order are thanked or sent
to the secure payment processing area based on
that customers current configuration. Your
CSRs surf to the staff web pages of your order
system to search, retrieve, modify, update and
create various reports for the automated
orders. Your Pre Press receives the orders on
disk from the CSR at which point they have the
option to copy paste the text data, import the
text data into Quark Express or process the
Adobe Illustrator files.

Beginning the Order Typically your customers will
surf to your web site and click a link to the
order system where they will select a language,
enter their appropriate login information and
receive a screen listing the items available to
that user. The items are listed in a selection
box and a thumbnail image of an item selected
appears to the right of the selection box. The
item selection screen can also be customized
based on the users CLIENT ID.

Order Creation
Creating the Order Originally designed for
ordering business cards on-line, Q-Card now
handles any variety of stationery items. The
power of this program lies in its ability to
create dynamic web page forms from data stored in
the users item data base. This data base contains
fields defining the customers default information
and specs needed to deliver a visual for proofing
purposes. All of your customers stationery needs
can be managed by theQ-Card system. Even
non-stationery items and out-sourced products can
be added to your Q-Card system. Customers can
fill in the form fields and select any options
available for the item they are viewing. When
ready, the customer clicks the view sample button
to get a visual for proofing purposes. When
satisfied with the order they can click Order /
Confirm to complete the order or click Order
and Continue with item which is chosen from the
list on the right side of the screen.

Completing the Order If a customer is configured
to pay by credit card, they are lead through a
series of secure screens that gather the
necessary information to confirm the order, get
shipping details and the credit information. The
final thank you screen can be printed for their
own records and future reference. This completes
the print order system from the customers
viewpoint.

Order Maintenance Your staff members surf to the
Order Control Panel and from there, perform any
task required to manipulate and process incoming
orders. This is usually done by searching for
orders placed during a specific time for example
yesterdays orders. Orders can be checked and
modified before the orders are retrieved for
prepress processing.

Order Retrieval Order retrieval can be
accomplished by anyone with the password to your
Order Control Panel. The task is usually
performed by the CSR who deliver the orders to
pre-press. In the case of a few small orders, cut
paste is the preferred. If many orders are to
be processed, the pre-press department may want
to import the orders directly into their
associated Quark template. Both methods can be
saved and delivered by the CSR.

Order Reporting There are three main report
builders that help cut down on time and wasted
material. A custom report builder is also
available for special reporting needs. These
reports are an important tool both for the
supplier and the customer especially for large
organizations wanting to track the number of
orders being placed by their different divisions.

Order Processing There are no complaints from
the pre-press department when they no longer have
to typeset text written on a napkin over a
business lunch. Retrieved orders come from the
CSR sorted by customer, template ID and
quantity. Pre-press has the option to simply cut
paste the text data into Quark, import the
orders directly into their associated template or
process the Adobe Illustrator Files.
