Fellowship Intent

• Train health sciences librarians, scientists,
  health professionals, and others who wish to
  broaden their existing scientific background by
  acquiring the additional disciplinary knowledge
  and expertise to function as an informationist.

My Background

• MSPH and Ph.D. (1997) in Public Health
• Four years research experience at University of
  Minnesota Rural Health Research Center (HSRP)
• Seven years experience at the Minnesota
  Department of Health, Center for Health Promotion
  (research, surveillance, program planning and
  evaluation, technical assistance to local public
  health, legislative reports, etc.)

• Upon completion of the training period,
  informationist fellows should be conversant with
  the culture, research practices, and policy
  trends in chosen domain of interest, familiar
  with the state of the art in information
  management, and familiar with the information
  environment that currently supports work and
  decisions in chosen domain.
