Importance of Agriculture in India
  • India is considered as a less developing country
    since ages and agricultural development have
    always added to the economy of this nation to
    make a secured place in the world market economy.
    Agriculture and other activities associated to it
    contribute nearly 50 to the economy of India.
    Hence it is considered as the prime occupation of
    the localities.

Contribution of agriculture to the economy of
India.
  • India has always been the largest producer of
    milk, cashew nuts, coconuts, tea, ginger,
    turmeric and black pepper worldwide. Along with
    this, it also has a large production of grains
    and other agricultural products. The quality and
    quantity produced are in demand in the outside
    world and hence the export of canned products
    adds to the economy of India.

Modern Agricultural Techniques
  • Now a days, Government has implemented new
    techniques to improve the quantity of production
    along with the stable good quality of agro based
    products. Funds are provided to the farmers so
    that the modern techniques and implements can be
    used to increase the yield. Tractors and
    harvesters are introduced to save time thus
    making it easy for the farmers who struggle day
    and night on the field to serve for this
    beautiful nation.

Government Schemes for Agriculture
  • The Government has implemented several schemes to
    avoid exploitation of the farmers who have served
    our nation since decades. Such schemes are known
    as Yojanas have been successful in the growth of
    production, agricultural development and the
    economy. Funds are provided on a timely basis to
    the Indian farmers for their well being and to
    use new modern machinery for agricultural purpose.
