Battle With Kidney Cancer

Steven Cantor Scantek Medical, Inc, health care
visionary and entrepreneur has successfully
undergone surgery for kidney cancer. Mr. Cantor
was first diagnosed with kidney cancer in early
2009 and had his surgery performed in August,
2009.

Steven was blessed to have found the cancer when
he did - generally with this type of cancer
embedded deep within the kidney, by the time its
found, it has advanced into the later stages
often with little or no hope for successful
treatment. In a somewhat comically painful but
much appreciated incident, a cat jumped on
Stevens scrotum causing an injury to his
testicles. Later that day Steven Cantor Scantek
Medical, Inc had visited a urologist who had
ordered several tests, one of them being an MRI.
It was the MRI that detected the cancer embedded
deep within his kidney.

Mr. Cantor was lucky to have found the cancer at
such an early stage when it was still treatable
without either radiation or chemotherapy. He
enlisted the help of physicians at M.D. Anderson
Cancer Center at the University of Texas in
Houston, Texas. They utilized a robotic
procedure called Da Vinci. Da Vinci is a
minimally invasive robotic procedure. In July
of 2006, M. D. Anderson began using the Da Vinci
Surgical System for prostatectomies. Using
robotic technology, the system allows surgeons to
perform minimally invasive surgery in real time
while seated at a console.

They operate controls that direct four robotic
arms inside the patient through tiny incisions.
While three of the robotic arms feature surgical
instruments, a fourth includes a small camera
that transmits three-dimensional images of the
surgical field back to the console. Steven Cantor
