• Virginia Tech is located in Blacksburg, Virginia.
• There are 100 halls, buildings, and centers.

Virginia Tech Massacre

• There were 32 deaths and countless injuries.
• The shootings occurred on Wednesday April 16,
  2007, at 800 a.m.
• The first police call went out at 945 a.m.

The Victims

• There were 32 people killed including 5
  professors (one of who was a holocaust survivor),
  and 27 students.
• The shootings injured 17 people and 6 others were
  injured from jumping out of the window trying to
  escape.

The Killer

• Seung-Hui Cho was the killer.
• He had two separate attacks in different halls.
• 32 people were killed and many more were wounded.
• At the end of the two attacks, he committed
  suicide.

Chos Bio

• Cho was a senior English major.
• He was diagnosed and treated for a severe anxiety
  disorder in middle school.
• He was enrolled in Special Education until his
  Jr. year of high school.

The Shootings

• The first shooting took place in the Amber
  Johnston Hall at 800 a.m.
• The second shooting in the Norris Hall was
  reported at 945 a.m.
• Students were not evacuated immediately because
  the shooting was thought to be domestic.
• Authorities thought the shooter left the campus
  or state.

The Aftermath

• A bulletin was sent out after the shootings to
  evacuate.
• After the shootings, students spent the rest of
  the day crying in small circles--it was extremely
  quiet.
