2Year Two Geography
- Part of the Year Two curriculum is to learn
about other countries and places. -
- Six year olds need to be able to make concrete
connections. This project examines various
countries while creating a sense of personal
involvement for the children.
3Pace
- Due to the nature of receiving information from
different locations this unit may vary in pace. - Some students may not be able to send their flat
image to other places. These students can have
their flat image travel with family and friends.
- If this proves to be a problem they can use
information from other students.
4Learning Objectives
- Students will be able to
- recognise a reasonable number of places on a map
or big atlas - understand some of the human and physical
features connected to these places - realise that a variety of types of transport can
be used to visit places and that some types are
more suitable than others - understand that a variety of weather conditions
exist around the world
5Students feel involved
- Students made life sized copies of themselves
which were mailed to relatives. - As the flat people travelled to different
friends and relatives connected to the student,
post cards, emails and photos were sent back to
the student. - These were shared with the class.
- A large bulleting board displayed where the Flat
People had visited as well as the postcards,
photos and emails that had been sent.
6Here we are ready for our travels!
7Excitement

started to arrive. - Letters
