1Chiropractor Associates. Lexington's Best
Multi-Disciplinary Clinic
- Elswick Chiropractic Associates that by
creating a team approach that utilizes the
strengths of each discipline, we are able to
provide our patients with one of the most
comprehensive and effective treatment strategies
available today.
2Multidisciplinary Rehabilitation for Superior
Results
- Our treatments go far beyond heat applications
and ice packs. At Elswick Chiropractic, we start
with a comprehensive diagnostic exam and
consultation to determine the source of your
pain. Then we create an individualized treatment
plan designed to help you achieve lasting pain
relief as well as lifelong health.
3Chiropractic Adjustment/Manipulation
- Adjustments, or manipulation as they're sometimes
referred to is the minor movement of vertebrae in
the spine. The objective of this movement is to
realign vertebrae that have moved out of place
for a number of reasons ranging from normal daily
activity to trauma such as a car accident.
4Spinal Rehabilitation Program
- One of the principles that guides care at Elswick
Chiropractic Associates, PSC is the idea of a
strong core. It is our belief that a strong
muscular system, particularly the core muscles of
the spine, aid in stabilizing the spinal
structures. At Elswick Chiropractic we utilize
the talents of a physical therapist and three
exercise physiologists to develop and implement a
customized core spinal strengthening program.
5Chiropractic Massage Therapy
- At Elswick Chiropractic Associates it is our
philosophy that no one discipline has all of the
answers to pain. It has been our experience that
one is not able to separate the muscles from the
bones and joints when it comes to focusing on
treatment for musculoskeletal pain.
6E Fitness Studio and Fitness Plus Personal
Training
- Elswick Chiropractic Associates, PSC has joined
forces with Fitness Plus Personal Training in an
effort to provide our patient base with the
additional option of a customized strengthening
program. Sheila Kalas, owner of Fitness Plus, has
developed a comprehensive personal training
program that is available to our patient base at
Elswick Chiropractic Associates.
7At Elswick Chiropractic Associates, PSC we
have a fully equipped x-ray facility on site.
X-rays of the spine are used to rule out the
possible presence of pathology. Next, the x-ray
is used to study the shape and position of each
bone in the area of concern. This approach allows
the treating doctor to use the x-ray as a
blueprint of the spine. This approach affords the
treating doctor the ability to study the form and
function of the area in question. With this
information, the treating doctor is then able to
suggest the most appropriate treatment options
for the prospective patient's specific condition.
Also, in those instances where traditional x-ray
is not sufficient in evaluating the patient's
condition, Elswick Chiropractic Associates, PSC
has established a solid working relationship with
several area diagnostic centers where advanced
imaging can be undertaken. Some conditions may
require MRI or CAT scans to further evaluate the
area of concern. In those circumstances, we are
able to order the appropriate study and get our
patients the necessary imaging in a fast and
effective manner. ServicesAdjustments/Manipulati

8Rehabilitation Therapeutic Services
- Often referred to as "muscle stim," the therapy
involves low levels of electrical impulses
delivered to the injured, painful tissues to
reduce pain and speed healing. Often described by
patients as a pleasant, "tingling" sensation, or
"electrical massage," these impulses stimulate
the body to release natural pain relievers,
called endorphins.
9Spinal Exercise Therapy
- Partial sit ups are recommended for people with
back pain. The same muscle groups are worked out
without putting stress on the lower back. You
will start just like a regular sit up with your
back on the floor, both feet on the floor, and
your knees bent. Raise your head, neck, and
shoulders off of the floor and hold that position
for 5 seconds.
10Custom Foot Orthotics
- Orthotics are a great way to help with issues
related to walking and alignment. Some of these
include but are not limited to knee, foot and
lower back pain. The need for orthotics is often
related to an issue with the natural functioning
of the foot. Orthotics will often help to realign
the bones within the foot and ankle and therefore
take pressure of other parts of the body such as
the back, neck, shoulders and hips. In addition,
orthotics will help with distributing your weight
properly and take further pressure off of toes,
bunions and other parts of the foot.
