Title: BIO-SECURITY PROTOCOL FOR BLACK TIGER SHRIMP FARMING
1- 2. Prepare pond
- Water gate and system of discharging waste should
be secured to supply full of water in store pond
at one time of high tide. Pumping water ought to
done at middle level . Filling net has to be put
in fond of gate (size is 9.5mesh/cm2 or
85mesh/cm2). - Store pond should have large enough to can
contain about 30 of total water in culture one.
- Edge of pond need ramming carefully so as to
they are not eroded water can not be leaked out.
They should be covered by PVC, and PE, etc. They
are also fenced with animal-prevented net so pond
can not be invaded by animals outside. Lime need
putting into the bottom pond (the best is
powdered lime), around the edges, and road system
to pond.
3. Prepare water pump water into pond, and set
up a system of water wheels (one/2000m2), water
level need to reach to 1m height, then be treated
by chlorine (concentration is 30-35kg/1000m3).
During the time of treatment, water must be mixed
continuously, 12 hours/day at daytime in three
days.

BIO-SECURITY PROTOCOL FOR BLACK TIGER SHRIMP
FARMING
- 1. Pond location
- Pond should be built up in places in which they
need to adequate condition such as supplying
water resource has depth level, and not affected
by domestic and industrial waste. - Pond should be set up in areas have height
higher than the highest level of tide about 1m in
order to be easy to discharge water and harvest
process. - Pond ought to construct in points where
transport is easy, near by food suppliers and
laboratories. A system of security and
electricity are guaranteed.
- After 5 - 7 days, stimulate the growing of
plankton by Nitrite and Phosphorus with rate is
11. The using quality for each of them is 6kg.
After 3 days, the color of water become to green.
24. Raise seek Seek should be bought from
prestigious and believable suppliers. The size
of larvae is P20, with density about 8- 10 one/m2
in order to it can be developed sustainably.
Small shrimp need domesticating by water in pond
so as to they can adapt to temperature and
salinity, etc, and avoid from shock happening
before they are released into culture pond.
- Check shrimp after one month culture
- Sample of shrimp should be collected in feeding
sieve to estimate amount of food. - If the level of water in culture pond is lower
than 1m, store pond need to treat by chlorine and
added into culture one. - Bio-product need to use 7 days/time and about 5
kg/1000m3 of water. If it rains, powder lime put
into pond, 10 -12kg/2000m2, in order to the pH
can be prevent from changing suddenly, and water
is also mixed. The growing of shrimp need to
observe. It has high believable, one sample
should include 20 30 shrimps.
6. Harvest When shrimp is achieved the standard
size, its harvested collectively to reduce
shrimp density in the pond. When it is about 30
g, harvest in day 7-8 after seeing shrimp/chitin
shell. It should not change the water because
that wills stimulus shrimp to change its shell.
Shrimp harvest
7. Update pond data is importand for bio-security
aquacuture.
- Ensure biological safety in pond
- External barriers preventing the spread of
disease organisms onto and off a farm - Internal barriers preventing the spread of
disease organisms within a farm - All of working tools (such as bucket, basin,
net, sieve, etc) used for culture pond must
separate, anti-disease to ensure that it can not
be infected by outside resources. Lime should be
released around the edges about 20 days/time to
prevent epidemic disease breaking into pond. - Important method of disease prevention includes
providing a pathogen-free water source. Thus, an
infected water supply may require modern
technology (mechanical filtration, chemical
treatment, biological treatment with probiotics
etc) to make the water acceptable for a biosecure
facility. Finally, optimal management techniques,
including stocking densities, nutrition, and
genetics are essential for all aquacultured
species to develop and maintain an optimal health
and immunological status to fend off any
potential pathogens.
- 8. Notes
- Ensuring biological safety in all aquaculture
processes. All the processes are implemented
seriously. - Keeping water level at the pond stably, its
around 1 m. Environmental parameters are stable. - During aquaculture process, bottom alga grows a
lot, so its necessary to break its root and
clean it to avoid impacts to the pond quality. - Bio-security of concern and by modi- fying
existing farms and their mana- gements routines
to apply biosecure concepts. Furthermore, the
appli- cations of biosecurity concepts to shrimp
aquaculture will contribute significantly to
making the industry much more sustainable and
envi- ronmentally responsible well into the
future.
- 5. Manage and care culture pond
- The first month
- The most important kind of food is natural one,
higher amount of useful phytoplankton have,
better shrimp grow . - Water should be mixed about 10 -15 days in the
morning, and 30 -60 minutes/day. - Shrimp ought to add with industrial food,
100g/100000 one/day. Using sieve is to check
amount of food, healthy and living rate of
shrimp. The area of sieve should be 0.4 0.5m2.
And the quality is 20 -30g for each one.
- pH, salinity, DO, etc should be checked daily.
The quality of water (BOD, COD, algae, copepod,
etc) and disease in ponds have to determined at
least 01 time/month (normal is 02 time/month). - If the color of water disappear, it has to
stimulate the appearing again.
