The Chiles Reading Plan

• Strengthen the English program to include
  explicit instruction of reading strategies
  (reading coaches in the classroom, follow-up and
  feedback).
• Three-week strategies unit.
• Strongly encourage the use of guided reading
  instruction into content areas twice a week for
  15 minutes (pre, during, post)
• Encourage outside reading among students.
• Continued study of individual teachers student
  data
