Reminder Overall Concept
  • Use advanced collaboration technology to link
    SC2001 conference with a diverse set of
    constellation sites, and develop a program that
    exploits this distributed infrastructure to both
    disseminate SC2001 content and to increase the
    range of ideas presented and discussed at the
    conference

  • SC Global Showcase Node on showfloor
  • 2 SC Global rooms (one with Tech Program, one
    with Education BOFs)

  • All require Access Grid installation
  • All gear obtained thanks to Internet-2, NCSA,
    Kansas, Kentucky, Florida, ANL, BU!!
  • Integration with webcasting planned

  • Goal is to run continuously during showfloor
    hours, with a dynamic program featuring mix of
    e.g.
  • Remote content - distributed dance, art,
    teleradiology, visualization, closed-captioning
    of some sessions
  • Snapshots of technical programs

  • Not Julies wedding!

  • BOFs with distributed participants
  • Panels with distributed speakers
  • Tech talks remote content displayed at Denver
  • In addition, remote sites may of course want to
    receive Denver content
