2 Roman Art
- Roman art grew out of the Etruscan Art.
- It is very similar to the Etruscan Art. Roman Art
is its own art and it began around 500 B.C. - It began with the roman republic and its people.
These people are mostly involved in sculptures
and portraiture. When doing this they always
involved a famous person.
3Roman Literature
- Ancient writers wrote about what they observed
and what theyve been through or seen. - Celebrations of Romes history was always
involved - Although the written literature was not always
accurate. - The language, and expression were the dominance
over all of the Western world. - Many of the works were, comedy, history,
rhetoric, and poetry. - Epic poetry

4 Roman Architecture
- Romans had their own style.
- Arches and domes were built.
- The Romans invented roads.
- Bridges were built by the Romans and they used
concrete. Many of their buildings were
rectangular. - Romans also built temples.
- These were built for gatherings, festivals,
homes, and many other things. - Romans built all the these extraordinary
architectures all over Europe. - A few well known built arches are
- The arch of Titus
- The arch of Severus
- The arch of Constantine
5What its like to be from Rome..
- Romans have different aspects of life.
- -Paterfamilias (head male member of family is in
charge. - -Father provides Education.
- -When marriage is arranged the common age is
about 14 years of age. - -When a couple is married, it is wife's or
husbands choice for divorce. - -at the wedding the bride is dressed in a long
white rob, with veil and her shoes must be a
bright yellow color. - -The male authority diminishes
- -The roman empire was the worlds first melting
pot. - -roman clothing was usually consisted of a tunica
and toga. - -the toga virillis was a plain toga white in
color and only worn by adult males. - -The toga praetexta was a off white toga with
purple, this was only to be worn by senators. - - The toga pulla was a special all dark toga,
that was only to be worn in times of mourning.

out. People were distanced from things and
weren't able to travel or do anything.
