Title: eFACTS Guide

1
eFACTS Guide
  • Center for Coalfield Justice

2
Summary
  • eFACTS is the Pennsylvania DEPs system to view
information on permitting, licensing, and pending
    applications.
  • People can search for individual authorizations,
permits, clients, sites and facilities, or by
    general name.

3
What eFACTS can tell you
  • What progress has been made on a new permit or
    permit change application
  • Whether or not a permit has been issued or is
    pending
  • Site inspection results, when there has been a
    violation, and enforcement information

4
How to use eFACTS
  • At the DEP eFACTS website www.dep.state.pa.us/efac
ts click Search eFACTS on the left.

5
Depending upon your information, choose the most
appropriate search area.
6
Authorization ID Search
  • This search will go directly to the permit
change. If it is pending, it will also show the
    progress toward completion.

7
  • To get more information on the permit (e.g.,
permit number) click the site name and then View
    Permits.

8
Permit Number Search
  • Under Authorization / Permit Search, enter the
permit number into the appropriate field. To
search for a permit change, click the site and
    View Permits.

9
You will then have to figure out which is the
best match. Try using the submittal date or
application type in comparison to the public
notice. There is no exact science to this, but
use your best judgment.
10
Name Search
  • Use this search if you are unsure a name is a
client, site, or facility. Enter the name you
have, and narrow city or zip code. Try to be
specific, since a search can yield many
    responses.

11
  • If the name is a site, you cannot choose it in
the results page, but instead must View Client
List, View Client Sites, choose the site name
    again, and finally View Permits.
