Job Search Requirements
  • Able and Available
  • Making an active search for work
  • Three (3) job search contacts/activities
  • All activities must be documented on your job
    search log

Misrepresentation Fraud
  • Misrepresentation (Fraud), giving or leaving out
    information to get benefits that you otherwise
    would not be entitled to receive.
  • This disqualification can lead up to a 2 year
    denial of benefits and
  • An overpayment!

  • Commissioner Approved Training (CAT)
  • Training Benefits (TB)
  • Workforce Investment Act (WIA)
  • Worker Retraining (WRT)
  • Trade Adjustment Act (TAA)

Commissioner Approved Training (CAT)
  • Waives the job search requirement.
  • Does not extend benefits or pay for books,
    tuition, or school related fees.
  • Is approved on a case by case basis.
  • How to apply Complete a Student Eligibility
  • Questionnaire/CAT application. Applications can
    be found on the Unemployment Insurance website at
    cat.go2ui.com.

Training Benefits (TB)
  • There is a strict deadline when applying for TB.
  • When you open a new claim with an effective date
    on or after 4/5/09
  • Must submit your application within 90 days of
    filing your claim or reopening your claim after
    working, and
  • Enter the approved program within 120 days upon
    notification of the program requirements.
  • Additional program changes that expand
    eligibility will happen in September.
  • How to apply Complete a Training Benefits
    Application Packet. Applications are available
    on-line at tbapp.go2ui.com.
