Introduction I studied at the University of
Stirling in Scotland last spring. I was
interested in studying there because I always
wanted to have a chance to visit the castles and
highlands of Scotland. I was also interested to
see the country my relatives came from.
Results At university I became good friend with
all my roommates and met people from all over
Europe in my classes. I took three classes
Marine Biology, Environmental History, and
British History from Europe to Empire. Classes
focused entirely on analyzing information rather
than memorization, which took getting use to.
In my free time I traveled around Scotland and
visited some European countries. I also
frequently played golf at the university golf
course.
Objectives I expected Scotland to be a wonderful
adventure where I could climb tall hills and
explore mysterious castles. It was everything I
expected and more. My only disappointment was I
was unable to do as much hiking as I would have
liked. I hoped to learn about the history,
culture and way of life in Scotland.
- Discussion/ Conclusion
- I would recommend the Stirling program because
everyone was friendly, the professors were great
and Stirling is in the center of the UK so you
can easily travel around. - I learned about difference in culture, what it is
like to be a college student in Scotland and a
different perspective on the world.
Materials and Method I found the program online
and at the study aboard office. I had come up
with enough money to afford the trip and figure
out transportation to University. I also called
up our some family friends and arranged visits.
