top ten lists to help you get a feel for life
in Edmonton. Despite receiving the inappropriate
label Deadmonton, and rumors of year long minus
40 Celsius, there are a ton of great things to
see and do in Albertas capital. Just take a
    look

of Edmonton, it comprises the largest urban
parkland system in North America. Run, bike,
rollerblade, skate, ski, or golf through 150
kilometers of maintained trails and parks along
the North Saskatchewan River. Edmonton averages
12.32 hour of sunlight a day, up to 17 hours per
    day in summer!
  • 2) Go to a festival Edmonton is also known as
the Festival City. Each year we are home to
over 30 festivals ranging from the popular
Fringe Theatre Festival to the Folk Music
festival to the multicultural Heritage Days
    festival.

Top Ten Must do/see
  • 6) Shop at West Edmonton Mall It isnt the
biggest mall in the world anymore, and it is a
bit sad that most of Canada thinks that all
Edmonton has is a mall, but it is worth seeing.
Where else can you buy a new outfit, lounge on
the beach, eat lunch, ride a roller coaster or
submarine, shoot a 9mm handgun (not that we
condone violence), bungee jump, go dancing,
pick-up and stay in a fancy hotel (not that we
    condone picking up at bars).
  • 7) Enjoy the Arts Edmontons Jubilee Theatre is
home to the Edmonton Opera, Royal Alberta Ballet,
and numerous touring Broadway Musicals. The
Windspear Theatre is a world-class venue housing
the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra and other musical
    performances.

maintained by the University of Alberta and
showcase a large Japanese garden as well as a
collection of native and alpine plants.
  • 9) Take a trip back in time Visit Fort Edmonton
Park. It is a living history museum that traces
