Stem Change Verbs (oue)

• Stem change verbs are regular ar/-er/-ir verbs
  that must have a spelling change in the stem.
• The stem is the infinitive minus the ar/-er/-ir.
• The following verbs are oue stem change verbs.
• Where there is an o in the stem you must change
  it to a ue except in the nosotros and vosotros
  forms

• If you were to draw an outline around the four
  forms that change you would have a picture of a
  boot. So these verbs are fondly nicknamed BOOT
  VERBS.
• They still use the regular ar/-er/-ir endings of
  the present tense.
• THERE IS NO STEM CHANGE IN THE PRETERITO TENSE
