  • Look at what we have to sell instead of what we
    dont have focus on what weve got (Open space,
    tranquility)
  • Small town unique places to promote within the
    region, off-the-wall places that visitors dont
    know exist
  • Northern Route to the Black Hills promote the
    journey rather than the destination (along the
    entire route, not just in the community)
  • Sportsman Marketing cooperatives are a good
    thing

    mentors/investors.

  • Utilize distance education capabilities to teach
    technology entrepreneurship throughout South
    Dakota and develop teachers with ability to
    integrate innovation and entrepreneurship into
    their classrooms.

    life was lower on the list need to elevate and
    promote- market it earlier, let them know what we
    have right away
  • Many players to work together need to always
    continue to improve our partnerships challenge
    is the communication but strength is the same
    vision
  • Defining quality of life not the same for
    everyone
  • Last election voting on the video lottery and how
    that looks to outside public

    those not originally from SD. Accepting of more
    diversity promote in migration
  • Target quality of life for the different
    populations schools and safe town for families
    with children
  • What are you looking for on the state web page
    information and visualization of what they are
    looking for different for the different target
    population

  • Tribal housing lack of available funding to

    break down the boundaries through the 2010
    initiatives
  • Technology the world has never been smaller
    than it is today we can compete with other
    areas for jobs
  • We have the small rural state we know everyone

  • Funding opportunities for the arts education is
    there but no increase in federal funding and
    competition for funding has grown due to the
    education and marketing of the programs more
    indicatives and funding
  • We limit ourselves based on location our own
    attitude can limit where we go and what we do
  • Communities sometimes afraid of growth negative
    affect on quality of life - dont want the
    negative
  • Lack of population growth
  • Great ideas but limitation of human resources and
    financial support to get everything done
