Turning Camera On and Off

• On/Off and Shutter Combo
• Outer Ring Turns
• Clock wise to turn on
• Playback Mode
• Picture Taking Mode
• OFF turns camera off
• Automatic Off after inactivity, turn to OFF then
  back on to activate

Batteries

• Uses 4 AA size
• Slide lid outward before lifting
• Arrange as Shown (Note positive negative ends)
• Slide lid inward after closing
• Replace if Camera wont turn on or is turning
  itself off too soon

Taking Pictures - Basic

• Turn on Camera and set Mode Dial to
• Camera will set Exposure Focus automatically
• Center Subject in Viewfinder
• Push Shutter Button just half-way (careful now!)
  until you hear a BeBeep, to allow camera to Focus
  and set Exposure
• Push Shutter all the way to take photo (hear a
  soft clicking sound)

Taking Pictures - Basic

• Need the Flash?
• Must open first (release button near strap in
  photo)
• Turn Flash on using the button
• Repeat to set Flash Mode
• Auto Flash
• Red-Eye Reduction
• Forced Flash
• Note Flash is only effective to about 12 feet
• Zoom
• Press Top to Zoom Toward subject
• Press Bottom to Withdraw

Playback On Camera

• Set Power Switch to Playback
• Use the Forward and Reverse Buttons to view
  Pictures on LCD Display
• To Erase a Picture (while viewing) Press Menu/OK
  Button
• Use On-screen Menu to Delete Current Picture
• LCD is default during Playback, use EVF/LCD

Image Transfer

• Pictures must be downloaded from Camera to
  Computer
• Door labeled xD Picture Card
• Push gently and release, it will pop out
• We have only one USB Equipped Computer with Card
  Reader See Joe to download
• Replace card gently ... it only goes in one way
  dont force
• Joe will place pictures in the Staff Photo
  Folder for you

• Picture Size Quality
• In Picture Taking Mode, Press Menu/OK Button
• Select Quality with Up Down Controls
• .3M - Lowest Quality, Smallest Picture 640 x
  480 pixels
• 1M - 1280 x 960 pixels
• 2M - 1600 x 1200 pixels
• 3M - Highest Quality, Largest picture 2048 x
  1536 pixels
• Note Pictures Remaining for each setting
• .3M is sufficient for most On-screen purposes,
  use higher setting if you intend to make large
  prints

Special Features

• Close-up (Macro) Photos
• Use Macro Settings for very close photos flowers,
  bugs, print, etc.
• Use when closer than 2.5 feet
• will focus at 4 in. to 2.6 feet
• Press Macro Button and click away
• Press again to disable Macro ... dont forget
  before returning to Normal shots
• Turning Camera off will also turn off Macro

• Self-Timer
• Use to get into your own Photos
• Press Menu/OK Button, then the Move Right Button
• Use Up Down Buttons to Select Timer
• Compose and Focus next Shot, Press Shutter and
  get in your Photo, Shutter will release in about
  10 seconds
• Turns off after each Shot
• Before very careful where you place the camera
  for the shot must be stable, level and not
  slippery
