3Saskatchewan
- A hot place, its where Im from. In Summertime
the activity increases because its cheaper to run
things. - They explore underneath the surface for oil and
minerals, and invent clever retrieval systems for
resource extraction. - As an environmental technician, it was my job to
take core soil and vegetation samples before they
cleared off leases for drilling rigs.
4Saskatchewan
- The retrieval system shown here is capable of
extracting materials thousands of meters below. - I tested the drilling mud so they could bury it
without harming the plant life.
5Saskatchewan
- Lacking mountains, we skied across the bottoms of
the valleys in summer, and down the sides in
winter. - I like to canoe
- My brother Rick likes to ski
- So we get along great! Hang on, Rick!!
6Poetry
In 1998, I infiltrated the Regina artistic
community, attending lit classes, poetry
readings, concerts and plays, and joined a
community radio group.
I met my partner Aleksandra (named after
Solzhenitsyn, Russian novelist) at a Tim Lilburn
reading. For months, we jammed in my basement,
watched movies, and drank pots of coffee two
caffeinated Sagittarians.
7Aleks Me
- We moved to Victoria in Fall of 1999, Aleks,
myself and Bagheera the black cat. - Then ferried across to Vancouver this December.

10The Library Club
Wow! Antonio Negri writes here that the Italian
Autonomia movements in the 1970s transformed the
landscape of political possibilities at that
time.
The very same. The various autonomous
collectives of women, students, artists and
environmentalists were trying to forge
alternatives both to capitalism and to the
Italian Communist Party.
Is that the same Negri that co-wrote Empire with
Michael Hardt and is now in prison for his
alleged affiliation with the Red Brigade?
Hmmm ... do you think we could form our own
autonomous collective, and call it the Kids for
Free Reading Club
Sure, why not?
11I dont know lets wait and see.
Is this the end?
