11WHAT SHAPE IS YOUR HEART?
Using your Passion
12What does the Bible say?
- The Bible uses the term "heart" to represent the
center of your motivation, desires, and
inclinations.
13What does the Bible say?
- Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you
the desires of your heart. Psalm 374.
14Your unique heartbeat.
- Each person has a slightly different pattern.
Likewise, God has given each of us a unique
emotional "heartbeat" that races when we
encounter activities, subjects, or circumstances
that interest us.
15Your unique heartbeat.
- We instinctively feel deeply about some things
and not about others. - This God-given motivation serves as an internal
guidance system for our lives. It determines
what your interests are, and what will bring you
the most satisfaction and fulfillment.
16How can I know my heartbeat?
- Think through your life.
- What passions, interests, and hobbies have you
had? - If you could do anything what would you do?

- REPAIR
- LEAD AND BE IN CHARGE
- PERSEVERE
- FOLLOW THE RULES
- PREVAIL
19Putting It Into Practice
- When you see the things that God has placed in
your heart we should ask How am I using this for
Gods glory and the health of His body?
20WHAT ARE YOUR ABILITIES?
21- About Abilities
- Abilities are related to heart but they are not
the same. - Passion does not give ability without work.
- The heart can provide the motivation but an
ability is the rubber meets the road aspect of
can you do this?
22Abilities Change Over Time
- There are times in life that we are limited by
health, previous commitments, the needs of
others, or finances and we may become unable to
do what we have a passion for. - We need to ask Who is able to as a part of our
planning.
23Our Abilities or Trusting that God Is Willing and
Able?
- As Christians our lives are different because we
do not have to focus on what we are able to do. - God gives us our abilities!
24Either Way!
- Sometimes He shows us how we are able and
sometimes He shows us our inability.
25SHAPE Personality
- God has given you your gifts, your heart, your
abilities, and your personality and he has a plan
in how they are to be used for the benefit of
others and the strengthening of the church.
261 Peter 334 (Page 1889)
- Your beauty should not come from outward
adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing
of gold jewelry and fine clothes. 4 Instead, it
should be that of your inner self, the unfading
beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of
great worth in Gods sight.
27What does God want from your personality?
- Has he made you an extrovert or an introvert?
- Are your batteries charged or drained by being
around people?
28What does God want from your personality?
- Would you say that you are directed more by your
thoughts or your feelings?
29What does God want from your personality?
- Are you more drawn to routine or variety?
30Your Personality?
- Do you tend to share your thoughts or keep them
to yourself?
31Your Personality?
- Do you tend to work towards cooperation or seek
to be competitive?
32- Your personality is neutral and it can be used
for good or turned toward sin. Satan is active
as well!
33Experiences
- God has given you your gifts, your heart, your
abilities, and your personality. He has also
been with you through your experiences and he has
a way that all of these can be used for the
benefit of others and the strengthening of the
church.

36Pauls Painful Experiences
- "To keep me from becoming conceited because of
these great revelations, I was given a thorn in
my flesh, a messenger from Satan, to torment me.
2 Corinthians 127 - Verses9-10 Three times I pleaded with the Lord
to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, "My
grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made
perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all
the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that
Christ's power may rest on me. 10 That is why,
for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in
insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in
difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am
strong.
37Pauls Educational Experiences
- Acts 182-4 Page 1724
- There (in Corinth) he met a Jew named Aquila, a
native of Pontus, who had recently come from
Italy with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius
had ordered all the Jews to leave Rome. Paul went
to see them, 3 and because he was a tentmaker as
they were, he stayed and worked with them. 4
Every Sabbath he reasoned in the synagogue,
trying to persuade Jews and Greeks.
38Pauls Ministry Experiences
