Introduction to Large and Infinite Extra
Dimensions
Abstract This talk gives an introductory overview
to recent theories which use extra dimensions to
explain such open questions as the hierarchy
problem (i.e. why is the gravitational
interaction so much weaker than the other
interactions?). In contrast with previous extra
dimensional theories (Kaluza-Klein and
Superstring theory) the current theories have
extra dimensions which are large or even infinite
in extent. This leads to interesting possible
experimental signatures.
