Project Aim
  • To establish a baseline of activities supporting
    implementation of the Quality Enhancement
    Framework (QEF) in Scotland at the subject level.
  • To gain an understanding of the role played by
    Educational Development Units, in conjunction
    with HEA Subject Centres, in implementing the
    quality enhancement agenda at subject level.

The Methodology
  • Scoping Study at the Subject Centre Event
    (Glasgow, March 2006)
  • Semi-structured interviews with staff at each of
    the six institutions represented on the project
    team
  • Focus group discussion with students in each of
    the subject areas (time/logistics permitting)

Outcomes
  • Brief scoping study report from Subject Centre
    event in March 2006
  • Report to the HEA, describing the project
    methodology and outcomes, including
    recommendations (where applicable)
  • Dissemination event on 22nd November 2006 and
    brief report on the outcomes of the day
