The Next Four Days
  • Days 1-4 complete the 4 dissection sections.
  • Cut and identify using manual or previous
    knowledge
  • Draw rat and label your picture
  • Put pins into the rat designating the structures
    with asterisks () for Mrs. Keilman to see and
    sign off on for permission to move on.
  • Those whom did not pass a quiz will complete the
    same thing, but with the lab manuals.
  • USE THE CUPS!

Rat Exam
  • Day 5 Exam
  • You will be required individually to identify
    structures pinned on different rats distributed
    throughout the room at different stations.
  • The structures you must identify are those with
    the asterisks that you pinned, yourselves.

to cutting through the ribcage.

Foul Play
  • Anyone seen using the dissecting tools or the rat
    in ways which are inappropriate (poking people,
    throwing body parts, or attempting to remove them
    from the room, etc.) will lose the PRIVILEGE of
    dissecting.
  • Take the oath..

Groups
  • 12 groups, two at each lab table of no more than
    3 people. I will choose your groups.
  • Those interested in cutting the rat will come up
    and get your bin.
  • You will then draw straws to see who gets to
    cut the rat.

  • Where are lipids, proteins, and carbohydrates
    (starches) digested?
  • Where are nutrients absorbed after theyre
    digested?
  • What organ makes bile?
  • Function of the large intestine is to absorb
    water.
  • 4. Circulatory
  • Know the 4 chambers of the heart (R/L atrium and
    R/L ventricle)
  • Know the difference between LDL and HDL
    cholesterol.
  • 5. Reproductive Understand that the main
    difference between rats and humans is that humans
    have just a single uterus, whereas rats have
    uterine horns.
