Policy for Accommodation of Faculty, Employees,
and Applicants (83)
  • WCU is committed to ensuring that all
    qualified individuals with disabilities have the
    opportunity to take part in educational and
    employment programs and services on an equal
    basis. The aim is to provide this opportunity in
    an integrated setting that fosters independence
    and meets the guidelines of the ADA and the
    Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

Unlawful Workplace Harassment Policy (70)
  • It is every employees responsibility to
    conduct herself or himself in a manner that
    contributes to an environment free of unlawful
    harassment or discrimination and free of
    unprofessional bias in the supervision and
    evaluation of employees.

Grievance Procedures for SPA Employees (77)
  • An employee has the right to present a
    grievance free from interference, restraint,
    coercion, or reprisal. Procedures for filing a
    grievance are outlined in the policy.

Improper Relationships with Students Policy (58)
  • 2 types of situations where the University
    prohibition and punishment of amorous
    relationships is necessary
  • 1) Employee may not evaluate or supervise
    the student.
  • 2) Employee may not engage in sexual
    activity with any enrolled student, other than
    his or her spouse, who is lt18 years of age.

  • WCU employees and students should be free from
    sexual harassment from any university employee,
    student, or visitor to the campus, or any agent,
    or contractor having a business, professional, or
    educational relationship with the university.

  • A hug between friends
  • Mutual flirtation
  • A sincere and personal compliment

Sexual Harassment Reporting Procedures
  • Tell the person to stop.
  • Document everything (dates, times, witnesses,
    what happened, etc.)
  • Inform supervisor.
  • Contact Mary Ann Lochner, Law, Equity and
    Auditing at 227-7116.
