27 states stockpile cluster munitions (36 of
all stockpiling countries) 17 states produced
cluster munitions (50 of all producing
countries) 6 States have used cluster munitions
and non-state armed groups also used cluster

Advocacy Possibilities

• Inform national mine action authorities and your
  contacts in government about the new process on
  cluster munitions
• Encourage various government ministries to
  express support for the Oslo Declaration on
  cluster munitions
• In countries affected by cluster munitions,
  emphasise to government the importance of a new
  treaty on cluster munitions for clearance and
  victim assistance
• Encourage government to attend next meeting of
  the process on cluster munitions in Lima, Peru
  from 23-25 May
• Support civil society to advocate for a new
  treaty on cluster munitions
