Tech Lab Procedures

• Welcome to Tech Lab!!!

Gum/CandyFood Drinks

• No gum or candy is allowed in the lab
• No food is allowed at ANY time
• Bottled water is fineas long as you keep it on
  the floor beside your chairno water should EVER
  be on the workstation.

Restroom Privileges

• Restroom pass is hanging on the light switch by
  lab entrance.
• Always re-hang the pass when you return
• Please always ask permission before leaving the
  room for a restroom break.

No book bags allowed in lab

• All book bags need to be left on the table
  located on the porch outside the Tech Lab
• Purses are allowed
• No pens/pencils allowedall work will be on the
  computer

Computer Software/Settings

• Do not alter any settings on the computersthese
  are shared computers among many classesnot your
  personal machine.
• Never download any games or other programsall
  the software that you need is already installed.

Techlabdata

• We have our own private server called Techlabdata
• There is a shortcut to it on the desktop
• ALL work needs to be saved in your folder inside
  our Techlabdata server
• Any work saved to ANY other location will be
  deleted!!!

Clean your workspace

• Push in your chair
• Place headphones back on top of computers
• Close any programs you have open.

E-mail/Social Networking/Chat

• You are not permitted to send and receive
  personal email during school
• Social networking sites are off limits during the
  school day. (myspace, facebook, etc.)
• Online chatting and blogging is strictly
  prohibited. This is for your safety.

Music Videos Online Audio ipods mp3 players
Cell Phones

• Watching music videos is inappropriate for the
  school day.
• Listening to music is also not permitted
• Any videos or audio should be related to the
  assigned project
• It is not the teachers job to monitor the music
  you listen to, or to make sure the content is
  appropriate.
• ipods or other mp3 players are not allowed in the
  lab. When you have headphones on, you cannot
  hear instruction.
• Cell phones are allowed to be carried, but not
  turned on or used during class time. They are
  for after school use only
• If you do have these items, they should remain in
  your book bag, pocket or purse.and TURNED OFF

Web Surfing

• All assignments for the day should be completed
  before you get online.
• Sites should be educational and content/age
  appropriate
• No online games permitted unless it is funbrain
  or disney.

Headphones

• When listening to online tutorials during
  assignments, please use your headphones that are
  provided.
• This will ensure that you will not distract
  students working in other modules around you ?
• If the audio is too loud, please use the volume
  control icon located in the bottom right corner
  of your taskbar.

Seating

• When you enter the lab, you should sit down at
  your lab station
• There will be no moving around to visit with
  other students during class you have an
  assignment to complete
• Some classes will have assigned seats

Adult Content

• Searching, displaying, or printing any adult
  content is strictly prohibited.
• Violators will immediately lose internet access
  and will be referred to the principal

Tardies

• All students are expected to arrive to class ON
  TIME
• 1st tardy verbal warning
• 2nd tardy written warning sent home to be signed
  by parent/guardian
• 3rd tardy class detention
• Additional tardies referred to principals office

Grading

• All work is done in the lab. There will never be
  any homework.
• Labwork Participation 40
• Quizzes Work ethic 40
• Projects 20

Procedures Agreement

• your signature acknowledges that you accept and
  agree with the discussed procedures of the CMS
  Techlab. If you feel that you cannot abide by
  the rules set forth, please let the instructor
  know so that alternate activities may be given
• Parents may read the procedures on the teacher
  website go to http//www.ccboe.net/cms
• If you do not have internet access, please inform
  your child to ask for a hard copy of the
  procedures for your review
