The Project Background
  • The Digital GAP
  • Without access to technology, students of
    low-income families in Brazil will continue to
    face enormous disadvantages in accessing
    services, education, job opportunities and
    information that would assist them to build a
    better future for themselves and their families.
  • The UNISYS Digital and Social Inclusion
    Initiative
  • The Unisys Digital and Social Inclusion
    Initiative has been set up by Unisys to help
    address the digital gap issue. The project main
    objective is to provide the IT skills to young
    adults of low income families helping them to
    acquire knowledge and skills so to gain better
    access to job and education opportunities.

The Need for Project Mgmt Skills
  • While it is widely recognized that information
    technology is one of the foundations for the
    development of a modern society
  • The capability to transform ideas and knowledge
    into reality (make it happen) through project
    management skills is also a key skill required in
    Brazil, specially among low income families.
  • The application, development, and promotion of
    project management concepts and life skills is
    key for development

The PMIEF Project MgmtLife Skills Initiative in
Brazil
  • To support the Unisys Digital and Social
    Inclusion Initiative in Sao Paulo, Brazil through
    the design and implementation of a project
    management training program .

Goal To develop a program, templates and tools
that can be used by students and young adults to
enhance their quality of life and increase their
value to employers and civic groups.
Purpose To expose students to the concepts of
project management and through this effort
demonstrate how project management concepts can
be applied to better manage everyday challenges
.
