Combine ideas and images you have taken in from
this and other sources. What creatures will you
make reference to? Why would they make good
protectors? What position should they be in to
serve as a water spout? How can you make them
look strange and grotesque? - Sculpt a gargoyle to sits on a level surface
using clay. Fire. Glaze. Display with an
explanation.

4Gargoyles are a swarm of strange creatures. They
were grotesquely carved waterspouts and
architectural ornamentation thought to protect
the dwelling from evil spirits. Many of them
come from the Gothic period and live on Gothic
structures. They range from mythological
monsters to unicorns to winged serpents to
bizarre birds to fantastic fauna. If the figure
is not actually a spout, it is called a
