5 Threat Vs Opportunity Matrix
Define CAP
Threat (If we do not change)
Opportunity (If we do change)
- Optimized utilization of database
- Improvement in execution time for _ SQL queries
Complex business _ reports
- Poor Query execution time for business _ reports
- Long wait time for business users
Short Term
- TCS looses credibility due to slow _ database
response
- Performance improvement will
_ lead to customer satisfaction - Effective utilization of resource
Long Term

Define Step B
Business Case (Including High Level Benefit
Analysis)
In Scope
iManage is data warehouse application. The
application consists of complex reports access by
30 users simultaneously. Reports are generating
from 'uatimng' database. Currently database size
is 200Gb and expected to grow to 30 a year.
Generation on complex reports on growing data,
user has to wait more than a minute. On growing
business, database and application requires to
capable to generate report within a minute. By
doing this, it will improve the performance of
application saves users effort time. 60
reduction of query execution time will enable to
comply the standards to achieve less than a
minute.
iManage Databases
Out of Scope
iManage Query tuning
Specific Goal Statement
To reduce average query execution time by 60 on
imanage database by 31-aug-2006.
Specific Problem Statement
Currently iManage application consists of complex
reports access by 30 users simultaneously on UAT
database and production database. Generation on
complex reports on growing data, user has to wait
more than a minute. Database and application
requires to capable to generate report within a
minute.
