A Mexican Christmas

  • The children go from house to house and sing a
song asking if there is room in the inn and they
    are told to go away
  • Each night from December 16 to Christmas Eve
there is a Posada party held at a different house
(this is the last house the children go to, where
    they arent turned away)

Posada Parties in Mexico
  • On Christmas Eve the biggest posada party is held
  • A nativity scene is put on display at the party
    house
  • They play many games including hitting a pinata
  • They have plenty of food and hang decorations
    like evergreens and paper lanterns
  • They have a church service and a display of
    fireworks is shown
