13Chaperones have an extremely important role!
- Monitor student behavior
- Keep children safe
- Point out interesting things
- Make sure they dont get lost
- Insuring that they have fun!
-
14Monitor childrens behavior
- The kids will be instructed to obey ALL adults
with our group! - Everything they do reflects on you, Reo School,
and us - The standard behavior rules apply no running,
no yelling, being respectful of others. - You can speak to them, even firmly, but dont
touch them in anger. - If you have problems, the teachers will be easy
to find!
15Keep Students Safe!
- If the behavior they want to engage in could
result in harming themselves, others, or
property, DONT LET THEM DO IT! - Examples
- - climbing over railings
- - walking on tops of high flat walls
- - getting too near water
- - picking flowers in yards
16Pointing Out Interesting Things
- Kids tend to hurry through museums and displays,
missing a lot of information. - They dont like to read plaques or brochures.
- When a docent is talking, make em listen!
- You are in an ideal spot to pass along bits of
educational information youve picked up along
the way!
17Making Sure Kids Dont Get Lost
- Kids get easily distracted and can drift away
(purposely or accidentally). - Be ever watchful that when you come out of
someplace, youve got everyone you went in with. - They must be with YOU at all times!
- You cant keep em safe if you cant
- find em!
18Insure That They Have Fun!
- We hope that whatever you buy (snacks) for one
member of your group, youll purchase for
everyone. - If there are special activities you want to do
(bike riding), make sure that everyone can
participate.
19You have our undying gratitude!
- We couldnt make this trip without you!!!
