  • 21 small isolated power systems (load centers)
  • No transmission link between load centers
  • The largest system is for the capital Phnom Penh
    (its Power demand is about 75 of countrys
    demand)
  • Peak demand for 2000 93 MW for Phnom Penh system
    and 30 MW for all other Provincial load centers
  • Annual energy consumption per capita 55 kWh
  • Electrification Rate12 of the total countrys
    households
  • Emergency rehabilitation and reconstruction is
    still ongoing

    Cambodia (Projects are under Study and prepared
    for financing).
  • Connect to Viet Nam for the Southern Grid and to
    Thailand for the Western (PPA with EVN has been
    signed and PPA with Thailand is preparing to
    negotiate soon).
  • Rehabilitation of Kirirom Hydro Power and the
    transmission line 115 kV from Kirirom to Phnom
    Penh 130 km (The construction is ongoing
    Private investment)
