  • Born October 27, 1466 in Holland
  • Raised as a Roman Catholic
  • Parents died from the Plague
  • Received the best education a young person could
    get
  • Ordained into the churchs priesthood

  • Studied at the University of Paris
  • Here he was influenced by humanism

  • The Greek New Testament helped other publications
    of different versions
  • Erasmus made this for Christianity, so he
    dedicated his work to Pope Leo X
  • Soon after, he began a new project
  • The publication of his Paraphrases of the New
    Testament
