Structure of Presentation
3
The Project
  • A RIA Network survey of E-access and E-usage and
    their relationship with Telecommunications
penetration rate in fifteen African countries,
    supported by IDRC
  • WHY
  • Decision makers in both national and
    international organisations need better
    understanding of the factors affecting
penetration rate, and how they are affected by
policy and the resulting market structure

4
Methodology
  • The survey strategy was pragmatic rather than
    exhaustive. Households clusters were selected
based on the census data, aiming to answer the
minimum number of questions needed to derive
simple yet reliable indexes of households E-usage
patterns which would allow countries to be
    compared and ranked
  • Due to the fact that the last census in Cameroon
dates back to year 1987, the country data
couldnt be weighted and thus compared with the
    other countries of the survey.
