  • There are 17,340,702 Cameroonians.
  • There are over 200 ethnic groups in Cameroon.
  • Examples of some ethnic groups are the Cameroon
    Highlanders 31, Equatorial Bantu 19, Kirdi 11,
    Fulani 10, Northwestern Bantu 8,other African
    13, non-African less than 1

Geography
  • Cameroon is sometimes referred to as the hinge
    of Africa because throughout the country there
    are areas of thermal springs.

  • Cameroon is divided into 10 semi-autonomous
    regions, each under the administration of an

Climate
  • The climate varies with terrain, from tropical
    along coast to semiarid and hot in north.
  • Average temperatures range between 22 to 25 C
    (72 to 77 F) with high rainfall.

Culture
  • Each ethnic group has a culture of their own but
    music and dance are integral in every ethnic
    groups ceremonies, festivals, and social
    gatherings .
  • Cameroonian Cusine varies by region, but a large,
    one-course, evening meal is common throughout the
    country.
  • A typical dish is based on cocoyams, maize,
    manioc, millet, plantains, potatoes, rice, or
    yams, often pounded into dough-like fufu
    (cous-cous).
