- Providing assistance for assessment, design, and
implementation at IT systems at regional level

technology-mediated development
- With technical issues (Internet, data routing,
Satellite connectivity, etc.) - where no
expertise exists - To identify new development opportunities through
technology (synergies with micro-lending, poverty
alleviation, etc.) - As a clearinghouse and distributor of
applications, technologies, etc. Co-operation
with other UN Agencies, Donors, and Private
Sector players - With financial support for cost-sharing of IT
activities
