Title: ELEVATED ROLLER COASTER TRANSPORT SYSTEM

1
ELEVATED ROLLER COASTER TRANSPORT SYSTEM
  • THE ONLY GLOBAL SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGY TO SOLVE
    TRANSPORT PROBLEMS
  • PRESENTED BY SURESH CHAWLA

2
PROFILE
  • MR SURESH CHAWLA IS THE PROMOTERS OF APPU GHAR
PRAGATI MAIDAN NEW DELHI FIRST AMUSEMENT PARK OF
THE COUNTRY A CONCEPT WHICH WAS NOT KNOWN IN
INDIA IN 1984. LATER HE SET UP 11 MORE AMUSEMENT
    PARKS IN INDIA
  • OUR DETAILED INTRODUCTION CAN BE VISITED AT
    www.sureshchawla.com

3
ELEVATED ROLLER COASTER TRANSPORT
MAJOR INNOVATION
  • IF IMPLEMENTED IT CAN BE HISTORICAL TURN AROUND
  • IF YOU WERE TO SET UP A NEW TRANSPORT SYSTEM YOU
NEED TESTS TRIALS BUT IF YOU SET UP AN EXISTING
TESTED TRIED AND PROVEN SYSTEM YOU DO NOT NEED
    ANY OF ABOVE

4
ROLLER COASTER AS TRANSPORT
  • No body can say that a Roller Coaster which works
day and night continuously carrying millions of
visitors every day in Amusement parks will refuse
to run over the roads in cities or in hills .
Roller coaster will be able to solve the most
complex problem of public transport by using same
bus Routes and Same bus stops existing in cities
or hills by running over the foot paths or by
sides of roads using very little space on ground
or on elevation. If covered from all sides, like
the system in Hume pipes of say 2 m diameter used
for sewage etc the system can run all 12 months
in hills exposed to land slides, snows and other
rocks falling on exposed railway at present

5
SOLVING THE TRANSPORT PROBLEMS IN CITIES THE
WORLD OVER WITH ROLLER COASTER
  • TO BEGIN WITH, WE POSE A SIMPLE QUESTION
WHICH IS THE ANSWER TO THIS PROBLEM AS WELL.
  • I. A ROLLER COASTER IS THE MOST RELIABLE
TRANSPORT MACHINE AS FAR AS SAFETY, SPEED,
TWISTS, TURNS, LEFT, RIGHT, UP DOWN, EVEN GOING
UPSIDE DOWN IS CONCERNED. A TRAIN WHICH CAN GO TO
THOUSANDS OF FEET HIGH AND THEN SUDDENLY SLIDE
DOWN TO SAME DEPTH WHILE UNDERTAKING LOT OF
ACROBATS, TWISTS TURNS ETC. IS SURELY THE SAFEST.
  • IF THIS MACHINE OR TRAIN HAS TO RUN
STRAIGHT ON A SMOOTH SURFACE ON ROADS OR ABOVE
ROADS IN PLACE OF AMUSEMENT PARKS WILL THIS
MACHINE REFUSE TO RUN ON PLAIN TRACK OR SHOULD
IT HAVE ANY PROBLEM AT ALL ?
  • A THE ANSWER IS CLEAR - NO PROBLEMS AT ALL

6
NEW SYSTEM ON ROADS
  • IMAGINE FOR A MOMENT THAT ROLLER COASTERS ARE
RUNNING ABOVE THE FOOT PATHS ON BOTH SIDES OF
MOST CONGESTED ROADS USING EXISTING BUS ROUTES ,
USING SAME BUS STOPS AND THERE ARE NO BUSES AND
TRUCKS ON ROADS. PEOPLE ARE WALKING BELOW THE
ROLLER COASTERS ON FOOT PATHS AND ROADS HAVE
BECOME FREE FOR CARS, TAXIES, TWO WHEELERS AND
    PERSONAL VEHICLES ONLY.

7
PRINCIPLE OF ROLLER COASTER
  • WHEN ANY TRANSPORT VEHICLE RUNS AT SPEED,
THE AIR BELOW THE CARRIAGE PROVIDES UPLIFTMENT,
THE AIR PRESSURE INCREASES WITH MORE AND MORE
    SPEED.
  • IN RAILWAY CARRIAGE THE DEAD WEIGHT HAS TO
BE 75 TONNES TO CARRY JUST 50 TO 70 PASSENGERS
    DUE TO
  • AIR PRESSURE
  • VERY LESS AREA OF CONTACT BETWEEN STEEL WHEEL
    AND STEEL TRACK.
  • FOR BUS 3 TONNES OF DEAD WEIGHT IS REQUIRED
FOR SAME 50 PASSENGERS BECAUSE OF WIDE WHEELS
WITH TRACTION BETWEEN TAR ROADS AND RUBBER
    WHEELS.

8
ROLLER COASTER TECHNOLOGY
  • A ROLLERCOASTER ON OTHER HAND HAS A WHEEL BELOW
THE TRACKS WHICH DOES NOT ALLOW THE CARRIAGE TO
FLY UP WHEN ON SPEED, SO THE CARRIAGE CAN BE
LIGHTEST AS COMPARED TO ANY OTHER CARRIAGE SYSTEM
IN USE IN THE WORLD AS ON DATE.

9
COST REDUCTION BY TECHNOLOGY OF ROLLER COASTER
  • NO ONE HAS HAD A CLOSE LOOK AT MOST ECONOMICAL,
SAFEST, STABLE AND RELIABLE MACHINE WORKING IN
    AMUSEMENT PARKS i.e. ROLLER COASTER.
  • THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR FOR ANY TRANSPORT MODE,
BE IT ON GROUND OR ELEVATED OR UNDERGROUND THAT
CONTRIBUTES TO ITS COST IS ITS DEAD WEIGHT AND
THE WEIGHT OF ITS SUPPORTING STRUCTURE OR SUPER
    STRUCTURE
  • .
  • IF THE DEAD WEIGHT OF A SYSTEM CAN BE REDUCED,
THE COST FACTOR OF THE SYSTEM AUTOMATICALLY
    REDUCES
  • .
  • THIS IS WHAT EXACTLY IS DONE BY ROLLER COASTER
  • .
  • IT IS ONLY ROLLER COASTER WHICH CAN HAVE THE
LIGHTEST DEAD WEIGHT OR EVEN OPEN COACHES WHICH
CAN TURN TWIST, GO UP DOWN ,LEFT OR RIGHT , NOT
ONLY THAT, EVEN UP SIDE DOWN AND STILL THE SYSTEM
IS SAFEST AND SUREST WAY TO TRAVEL WITH THRILL
    AND EXCITEMENT.
  • AS COMPARED TO RAILWAYS THE DEAD WEIGHT OF WHOSE
SINGLE COACH CARRYING JUST 50 -70 PASSENGERS
WEIGHS 75 TONNE TO RUN ON PLAIN FLAT TRACK.

10
MONOVERABILITY OF ROLLER COASTERS
  • ITS GRIP ON TRACK FROM THREE SIDES BY SET OF
THREE WHEELS MAKES IT THE SAFEST IN TERMS OF
    HEIGHT, SPEED AND MANEUVERABILITY
  • NO MORE ACCIDENTS

11
BENEFITS OF ROLLER COASTER TRANSPORT
  • MOST ECONOMICAL SYSTEM AS COMAPARED TO MONORAIL,
    ELEVATED METRO, OR UNDERGROUND METRO
  • MOST RELIABLE IN TERMS OF SAFETY
  • NO MORE ACCIDENTS
  • NO MORE CONGESTION ON ROAD
  • NO MORE POLLUTION
  • EVEN GOODS CAN BE TRANSPORTED BY CREATING
    ELEVATED CORRIDORS
  • EVEN BUSES CAN BE MADE TO RUN IN TRAIN FORM
  • CAN PLY ON SAME BUS ROUTES USE SAME BUS STOPS
  • CAN BE USED FOR GOODS TRANSPORTATION
  • CAN WORK ON PORTS TOO

ECONOMY INVOLVED IN ROLLER COASTER TRANSPORT
  • OUR SYSTEM BEING 10 TIMES EFFICIENT THAN
BUSES CAN BE VIABLE AT BUS TARIFF UNLIKE METRO
RAIL SYSTEM WHICH REQUIRE SUBSIDIZING AND TAKEN
    AS SOCIAL COST.
  • FEATURES
  • 1 A ROLLER COASTER CAN BE 3-5FT WIDE COACHES
IN TANDEM RUNNING OVER FOOT PATHS WILL COST
BETWEEN Rs 15-20 CR. PER KM (US 3 MILLION-4
    MILLION) OR
  • 2 6-8 FT WIDE COACHES IN TANDEM TO RUN IN
CENTRAL VERGE OF ROADS AND SHALL COST BETWEEN Rs
    20 -40 cr per km ( US 4-8 MILLION)
  • (HOWEVER ACTUAL COST CALCULATIONS WILL
    DEPEND ON SITE LOCATIONS)

15
OUR EXPERIENCE IN THE FIELD
  • ROLLER COASTER HAS BEEN RUNNING IN APPU GHAR
PRAGATI MAIDAN NEW DELHI SINCE 1984 WITHOUT ANY
    ACCIDENTS.
  • ROLLER COASTERS HAVE BEEN MANUFACTURED BY US FOR
OTHER CLIENTS ALSO IN OUR FACTORIES AT NOIDA
  • WORLD OVER ROLLER COASTERS HAVE BEEN RUNNING
    SUCESSFULLY
  • TRACK CHANGING ONLY POSSIBLE BY US SINCE WE HAVE
    PATENT FOR THE SAME
  • PUNE MUNICIPAL CORPORATION HAS ALREADY SIGNED A
PROJECT WITH US FOR THE CITY. A COPY OF MOU CUM
WORK ORDER IS ENCLOSED. WE WERE FIRST IN THE
COUNTRY TO SIGN MOU FOR ANY RAPID TRANSIT SYSTEM
IN INDIA. AT THAT TIME THERE WAS NO CONCEPT OF
ALLOWING MALLS OR COMMERCIAL USE OF STATIONS. WE
WERE ASKING FOR THE SAME TO BE VIABLE ON BOOT
PROJECT BUT OUR REQUEST WAS NOT GRANTED . NOW
AFTER LOOKING AT METRO IN DELHI ,WHERE ALL
STATIONS HAVE MALLS AND OTHER COMMERCIAL ASPECTS
    THE SITUATION IS MORE FRIENDLY.
  • PRESENTLY NEGOTIATIONS ARE ON WITH WEST BENGAL
    GOVERNMENT FOR HALDIA SHIMLA

16
RETURN ON INVESTMENT
  • SOURCES OF RETURNS
  • FARE AS PER BUS FARE
  • COMMERCIAL SPACES ON THE STATIONS SHOPS N MALLS
  • ADVERTISEMENTS ON STATION COACHES AND TICKETS

17
COACH SECTION DETAILS
  • COACH SHOWING 6 WHEELS AT ONE POINT
  • TWO AT THE TOP OF TRACK TWO TO CONTROL SIDE
MOVEMENTS, TWO AT THE BOTTOM TO CONTROL UPWARD
    MOVEMENT OF COACHES

18
INSIDE THE COACH
  • COACH SHOWING SEATS ON THE SIDES OF COACH FACING
FRONT DIRECTION BUT CAN BE SET FOR PASSENGERS TO
    FACE EACH OTHER AS WELL

19
NO BRIDGES REQUIRED TO CROSS ROADS
  • THE ROLLER COASTER TRAIN CAN CROSS THE ROADS AS
SHOWN BY DIGGING AND RAISING THE ROAD SURFACE

20
TEST IN FACTORY
  • WE CREATED A PROTOTYPE (THOUGH IT WAS NOT
    REQUIRED)
  • PRESENTED THE SHOW CASE TO WHOLE TEAM OF
CORPORATION FROM PUNE AND SIGNED FIRST ELEVATED
TRANSPORT IN INDIA IN YR 2000 BUT FOR WANT OF
COMMERCIAL SPACES OVER STATIONS WHICH WAS NOT
GRANTED THEN. THE PROJECT GOT DELYED, NOW DELHI
METRO HAS SET UP COMMERCIAL SPACES ON STATIONS
    OPENED DOORS FOR BOOT PROJECTS

21
ROLLER COASTER TRAINS CAN RUN IN NARROW LANES OF
OLD CITIES AS WELL
  • ELEVATED TRACKS HAVING VERY LITTLE WIDTH
WHICH CAN FIT INTO UNPLANNED OLD CITIES AND IN
LANES HAVING ZIG ZAG TINY ROAD NETWORK WHERE
TRUCKS AND BUSES CAN NOT PLY BECAUSE OF SPACE
    CONSTRAINS
  • THIS SYSTEM CAN FIT IN VERY EASILY IN THOSE LANES
SOLVING THE MOST COMPLEX PROBLEM OF
    TRANSPORTATION OF MEN AND MATERIAL

22
TRACK CHANGING TECHNOLOGY (OUR PATENT)
  • NOW THE QUESTION ARISES AS TO WHY WE AND NOT THE
REST OF THE WORLD COULD THINK OF OR IMPLEMENT
THIS MOST SAFE MODE OF TRANSPORT IN CITIES WHILE
HAVING SEEN ITS PERFORMANCE FOR LAST 100 YEARS IN
AMUSEMENT PARKS IN TRAIN FORM CARRYING 1000S OF
    VISITORS IN EACH ROUND.
  • THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE THAT A ROLLER COASTER SYSTEM
CAN NOT CHANGE TRACKS AS IS POSSIBLE IN RAILWAY
SYSTEM. A VERY IMPORTANT FACTOR REQUIRED FOR MASS
TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM. THIS IS THE REASON THAT
RAILWAYS HAVE MAINTAINED ITS MONOPOLY OVER OTHER
SYSTEMS WHILE MONO RAILS OR PUBLIC MOVER SYSTEMS
ARE CONFINED TO SINGLE TRACK TO RUN TO AND FRO OR
ON A CIRCULAR TRACK ONLY .
  • THIS WILL BE A STORY OF PAST NOW.
  • WE HAVE NOW FOUND THE SOLUTION OF TRACK CHANGING
IN ROLLER COASTER, AND HAVE OBTAINED PATENT. NOW
WE CAN BRING THIS SYSTEM OUT OF AMUSEMENT PARKS
AND OFFER THIS SYSTEM FOR CITIES.

23
IMPLEMETATION OF PROJECT
  • WE DO NOT NEED RS 75 CRORES (US 15 MILLION)OR
MORE TO IMPLEMENT THIS TECHNOLOGY FOR DISPLAY IN
FIRST PLACE AS IS REQUIRED IN OTHER TECHNOLOGIES.
  • WE HAVE ALREADY MADE A PROTO TYPE, TESTED, TRIED
AND RUN IT FOR TWO YEARS IN OUR FACTORY. IF WE
CAN CREATE PROTOTYPE ON OUR OWN COST, WE HOPE ANY
STATE GOVERNMENT /PRIVATE COMPANY CAN VERY
    EASILY TAKE UP FOLLOWING EXERCISE.

24
IMPLEMETATION OF PROJECT
  • FOR ANY CITY, ALL THAT WE NEED IS FOR SOME ONE
TO HAND OVER ONE OF MINI BUS OR A LARGE BUS FOR
US TO MODIFY ITS CHASSIS TO MAKE IT OUR ENGINE
AND RUN IT ON A CONCRETE TRACK/STEEL TRACK AS
REQUIRED FOR ROLLER COASTER. ONCE THE SUCCESS
STORY IS THERE FOR ALL TO SEE AND THE ENGINE
HAS RUN FOR A FEW DAYS, MORE BUS SHELLS CAN BE
    ADDED IN TANDEM.
