Title: CHARTING A COURSE TO THE MOON

1
CHARTING A COURSE TO THE MOON
  • TEAM NAME AFTF
  • Allyns Full Throttle Fliers

2
NAVIGATION PLAN EARTH TO MOON
3
AFTF ENGINEER CREWSUNMANNED 14TH SOURCE
  • Our rocket will launch by using two rocket
boosters and one belly tank. These items will
    blow-up and disappear in space.
  • It will contain a smaller rocket within it to be
used to impact the moon to collect data.
  • The rocket will split in half to release this
smaller rocket. This smaller rocket will contain
a ring that will collide with the moon and
    collect data.
  • The spacecraft will orbit the moon vertically and
    horizontally.

AFTF CARTOGRAPHER CREW ROUTE AND ORBITAL PATHS
  • We will orbit Earth two times to gain speed and
velocity. Then a gravitational slingshot to
create an arch toward the moon.
  • We will change course along the arch to make a
    downwards slope towards the Moon.
  • Once in the Moons orbit, we will go around the
moon at least once. As we approach the North
Pole, we will start going downwards and then
impact the Moon using the second rocket.

AFTF NAVIGATOR CREWINSTRUMENTS, CONTROL, AND
TRACKING

  • Guiding-We will put a 1 meter circle satellite,
that we can adust on the Engineers smaller
rocket. We will also put a 1 ½ meter satellite on
the rocket so we can see what is ahead of us and
to know where we are going.
  • Controlling-We will have a computer at Houston
Space Center to insert data to control the
spacecraft and direct it. Also using a computer
will let us insert new data if the 14th Source
    goes off-course.
  • Tracking-We will use stars and astroides to track
the spacecraft because usually the stars and
astroides are close or by spacecrafts. We will
also put a tracking device on our satellites to
know where the spacecraft is along its journey.
  • Staying on Course-Use certain Stars and Astroides
again the same way as tracking to know where we
    are at all times.
