    National Forest

20-22 people

How will we get there?
  • We will travel by Glynn County School Bus
  • Our route will be
  • It will take us approximately 6 hours
  • We will stop for lunch on Monday and Friday and
    will provide each child with 5

When will we leave?
  • We will meet on Monday, July 9th at the CVS on
    Gloucester St. in Brunswick (next to the
    Cooperative Extension Office) at 630 a.m. to
    pack, register and leave by 715 a.m.

Cabin Assignments
  • Each brick cabin will hold 22 people
  • Each child will have their own bed
  • Chaperones will sleep in a separate room within
    the cabin
  • You may request a cabin for your child to be
    placed with his/her friends

CODE OF CONDUCT REVIEW
  • 4-Hers are expected to attend all sessions as
    part of a planned program exhibiting positive
    character and behavior.
  • 4-Hers are expected to be responsive to the
    reasonable requests of the leaders and respectful
    of the needs for their personal safety and the
    safety of others.

  • 4-Hers should dress appropriately, use
    appropriate language and respect the rights of
    others.
  • 4-Hers may not use alcohol, drugs, or tobacco,
    nor be associated with or remain in the presence
    of others using these substances.
  • 4-Hers may not behave recklessly, engage in
    sexual misconduct, assault, threaten or harm
    another person nor may they misuse or abuse
    public or private property.

  • 4-Hers may have access to computers at UGA/CES
    offices and facilities. Computer use is for
    educational purposes. 4-Hers may not access
    inappropriate websites.
  • Realizing these guidelines are not all
    inclusive the University of Georgia Extension
    Staff reserves the right to make adjustments to
    these policies.

OVER THE COUNTER PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION SUMMARY
  • Must list any medicines that can be given to
    child without first contacting parents. (ie-
    Tylenol, Benadryl, Imodium, Neosporin, etc.)
  • If not listed on form, we must contact you before
    any medication is given to child.
  • Can put Any over-the-counter medications can be
    given.

Sickness Injuries
  • There is a first aid center at camp with a full
    time nurse.
  • If necessary and after we call a parent, we will
    take the child to the Putnum Hospital for
    treatment.

What to Pack?
  • Please limit child to one suitcase
  • Daily change of clothing underwear
  • Old clothing
  • 3 pairs of shoes (shower, dry hiking, wet-water
    shoes or sandals with heel strap)
  • NO FLIP FLOPS
  • Socks
  • Swimsuit (one-piece for girls)
  • Rain gear
  • Towels Washcloths
  • Toiletries (shampoo, soap, deodorant, toothbrush,
    toothpaste, etc.)
  • Jacket
  • Sleeping Bag or twin-sized sheets a pillow

  • Books to read on the bus

  • Please put your childs name on all of their

    or DVD players (If you bring these, we cannot be
    responsible for them.)

  • Weapons -NO
  • Chewing Gum -NO

Camp on Monday
  • We will arrive and register between 100 p.m.
    300 p.m.
  • Various adult and tribal meetings will take place
  • We will meet back at the cottage at 1030 p.m.
    and lights out at 1100 p.m.

Camp Schedule
  • Each day 3 meals will be provided
  • Organized and recreational activities will take
    place during the day
  • Each night there will be American Indian
    Presentations, Tribal Meeting, Recreation, and
    Variety Shows.
  • Each day will start with breakfast at 730 a.m.
    and end between 11 1130 p.m. with lights out.

CAMP MAIL TELEPHONES
If you would like to write your child while
at camp you can do so. In order for the mail to
arrive in time, you will need to mail it on the
Friday before we leave. The address is

There will be no personal phone calls. If
parents have an emergency and need to reach us,
please call Mrs. Lisa Craigue at the 4-H Office
at 384-1402 she will contact us. We in turn
will get in touch with you.

Phone Calls
  • Parents left at home should not
  • Call the camp to find out if the county has
    arrived safely
  • Expect a call from the camper during the week
  • Expect to call the camp just to check on their
    child
  • Send cell phones with their child to camp
  • Parents should expect to
  • Leave a voice mail if they call the camp after
    business hours
  • Have important messages delivered to an adult on
    the same day they call.

Parent Visitation
  • Parents are welcome to come to the Rock Eagle
    Native American Pageant on Thursday night at 830
    p.m.
  • You must have a completed visitor registration
    before we leave for camp.
  • The campers must stay through Friday morning.

Discipline
  • Your child must follow the rules of camp and
    those set by the code of conduct.
  • Failure to do so will result in non-physical
    disciplinary action.
  • We will remove your child from the situation, sit
    beside them, and remind them of the rules. If
    the childs behavior continues, parents are
    notified and asked to pick their child up from
    camp.

  • Bus List (2 buses)
  • Cabin List (2 Male, 3 Female)
  • Class List (Red or White String-First Timers,
    Blue String-Returning Campers, Swimming
    Lessons-Pre-assigned according to camp sign up
    forms)
  • Turn in Medical Release/Medication Form
  • Turn in Code of Conduct Form
