Introduction

• Automatic Vehicle Locator (AVL) is a computer
  based vehicle tracking system
• The actual real time position of each vehicle is
  determined and relayed to a control center
• AVL systems include computer -aided dispatch
  software, mobile data terminals, emergency
  alarms, and digital communications
